I discovered to my chagrin the week of 2024-01-08 that the terms of a couple of open-source licenses had been inadvertantly violated in versions 0.8.X and 0.9.X of osabe: a couple of libraries the application uses had included other libraries in the build without my being aware of them and I had not included the licensing information in the installer as required by the libraries' licenses, or the library's source as required in the LGPL.
As a consequence, all downloads of osabe are unavailable while I prepare a new version that is not in violation.
My apologies to the authors and maintainers of the libraries in question (see below) for the violations and to the users of this application for any inconvenience this disruption may have caused.
To the best of my knowledge, licenses for all the other software libraries this application depends on are packaged with the application and are adhered to.
Sincerely,
Paul Schnapp
Author and maintaner of osabe
I apologize to the authors and maintainers of the GMP library for inadvertantly using their work without giving them credit or adhereing to their terms of usage. Thank you very much for your work and for making it available for others to use.
I apologize to Kirill Simonov and to Ingy döt Net for the omission of credit and licensing information from the distribution of this application; thank you very much for your work and for making it available for others to use.
Other libraries I looked at in my review of unnoticed dependencies have (back)ports or derivations from other sources. I'm not sure how to treat these license-wise; I thought I'd just mention them here:
